Web Series Screenwriter, Sci-Fi Thriller

Our upcoming independent web series, a psychological sci-fi thriller set against the atmospheric backdrop of New Orleans, is looking for a talented screenwriter. This project delves into themes of artificial intelligence and human connection, blending suspense with thought-provoking ethical dilemmas. We’re aiming for a dark, gritty tone similar to early Black Mirror or Ex Machina, but with a unique New Orleans flavor. We've got a detailed series bible and pilot outline ready to go, and we need someone to help bring the rest of the season's scripts to life. This is a chance to make a real impact on an exciting, character-driven story. Key responsibilities include developing episode outlines, writing compelling dialogue, structuring scenes, and collaborating closely with the director and showrunner on script revisions. We'll need you to work within established character arcs and plot points, ensuring a cohesive narrative across the season. We’re looking for someone with strong narrative skills and a genuine interest in sci-fi and thriller genres. While this is an entry-level position, a portfolio with short film scripts, web series episodes, or even well-developed spec scripts demonstrating your writing voice and ability to build tension is a must. No specific gear is required for writing, just your creative mind and a reliable computer. We anticipate about 6-8 weeks of writing work, starting around late October 2026. Compensation will be daily, and remote work is entirely possible, though occasional meetings in New Orleans may be beneficial.
