Screenwriter for Commercial (Entry Level)

Commercial Screenwriting Chicago, IL entry Budget: $250/day flat

Hey Chicago film community, I'm a storyboard artist working on an exciting upcoming commercial project and we're looking for an entry-level screenwriter to join our team. This is a punchy, energetic spot for a local small business, aiming for a fun and slightly quirky tone. We need someone who can craft a concise, impactful narrative that captures attention quickly. Your main responsibilities will include developing initial concepts, writing multiple short script drafts (including tagline variations), and participating in brainstorming sessions with the director and creative team. We need someone who's comfortable receiving feedback and iterating quickly. We're looking for someone with a basic understanding of commercial script structure and a strong sense of visual storytelling. While a dedicated commercial writing reel isn't required, please be ready to share any short narrative samples, spec scripts, or creative writing that demonstrates your ability to tell a story efficiently. Even personal projects or student work are great to see. This is a paid position at a flat rate of $250 per day. We anticipate this will be 2-3 days of work initially, with potential for more as the project develops. Work will primarily be remote, though we may ask for an in-person meeting in Chicago. Please send your writing samples and a brief introduction to Robin Chang. Looking forward to hearing from you!
