Screenwriting for Short Film
Hey filmmakers, I'm producing an independent sci-fi short film and looking for a talented screenwriter to bring our concept to life. The story follows a lone survivor on a desolate alien planet, unraveling a mystery tied to ancient technology. We're aiming for a moody, atmospheric tone, think 'Arrival' meets 'Moon,' with a strong character focus and intriguing world-building. This project has a ton of visual potential and a unique hook. Your main responsibilities will include developing the initial story outline into a polished script (final draft), incorporating feedback, and ensuring the narrative aligns with our vision. Previous experience writing short-form or feature-length sci-fi is a must, and a strong understanding of visual storytelling is a huge plus. Please include a link to your portfolio or relevant script samples in your application. While we don't expect specific gear from you, a reliable computer and screenwriting software are essential. This is an independent production, so compensation will be on a deferred basis with points in the film. We're expecting to shoot for about 3-4 days sometime in late summer/early fall, so the writing timeline is relatively flexible. You'll be working remotely for the most part, but we'll have occasional in-person meetings in Los Angeles to brainstorm. We're a small, passionate crew eager to make something special.
