Screenwriter, Independent Feature (Paid)

Looking for a screenwriter for an independent feature film project, offering $100-200/day for approximately 3 weeks of work. This is a crucial role for our upcoming project, a thought-provoking drama with elements of magical realism, focusing on themes of community and personal growth in an urban setting. We need someone who can help us develop and refine a compelling narrative from an existing treatment. This includes crafting dialogue, structuring scenes, and ensuring character arcs are well-defined and emotionally resonant. You'll work closely with me, a documentary filmmaker, to bring a unique narrative vision to life. This is an entry-level position, so enthusiasm and a strong voice are key. Previous experience writing feature-length screenplays is a plus, but we're open to talented individuals eager to make their mark. Please submit a reel or portfolio showcasing your best writing samples, preferably including screenplays or treatments. This is a remote position initially, but we'll have meetings in Chicago, IL as needed. We're aiming to complete the script by early October 2026.
