Senior Editor, Short Thriller
We are seeking a senior editor for an upcoming independent short film, a psychological thriller with a noir aesthetic. This project promises to be visually engaging, exploring themes of paranoia and perception through a tight narrative. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for shaping the raw footage into a compelling story, working closely with the director to establish pacing, rhythm, and visual continuity. This involves everything from initial assembly edits to fine-cut refinements and final color and sound passes (working with dedicated specialists for the latter stages). We're looking for someone with significant experience editing narrative shorts or features, a strong understanding of dramatic structure, and a keen eye for detail. Proficiency in industry-standard editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve) is essential. While we don't require you to own an entire editing suite, having your own powerful workstation and software is a plus. Please showcase your previous work in a strong reel or portfolio. This is a deferred compensation position, with a percentage of backend profits. Production is aiming for a late summer shoot in Vancouver, BC, with post-production kicking off shortly after. We anticipate a flexible, project-based schedule. Specific hours and deadlines will be discussed.
