Senior Production Designer, Feature Film (Co-Producer)

Hey there, I'm Claire Mahoney, an Intimacy Coordinator, working on an upcoming independent feature film here in New York. We're looking for an experienced Production Designer to join our team on a rather unique drama with strong elements of psychological thriller, think modern-day Hitchcock with a surreal edge. The story explores themes of memory, desire, and emotional boundaries, and the production design will be absolutely key in building this intricate world. As our Production Designer, you'll be responsible for concept development, set design and dressing, prop sourcing, and supervising the art department. We need someone who can translate complex emotional states into tangible, visual environments. You should have a strong portfolio demonstrating your work on narrative features, particularly those with a stylized or atmospheric aesthetic. Experience working within indie budgets is a must, and we're particularly interested in designers who can be resourceful and creative with limited resources. This is a senior-level position, and we're looking for a genuine collaborator ready to take ownership of the visual storytelling. We're offering a co-producer credit and backend participation, as we truly see this as a partnership. Shoot dates are approximately late Fall 2024, exact dates TBD, and we anticipate a 4-6 week pre-production period with flexible hours.
