Senior Sound Designer, Pilot - Manchester

For an upcoming independent pilot shooting in Manchester during the last week of October 2026, we're seeking a talented Senior Sound Designer. This project is a dark sci-fi drama, exploring themes of memory and identity with a gritty, atmospheric tone. We aim for a truly immersive soundscape that enhances the narrative tension and character journeys. We’re particularly interested in creative and textural sound work that goes beyond standard effects. Responsibilities include all aspects of post-production sound, from foley and effects creation to dialogue editing, mixing, and mastering for broadcast specifications. You will be expected to work independently, shaping the sonic identity of the pilot from start to finish. We need someone who owns their own professional-grade sound design software and has access to a suitable studio environment for mixing. Candidates must have significant experience (5+ years) on narrative drama productions, ideally with a strong portfolio showcasing complex sound design for genre pieces. A reel demonstrating your ability to craft distinct sonic worlds is essential. This is a paid position, offering $100-200 per day, dependent on experience and the agreed scope of work. We anticipate about 3-4 weeks of post-production sound work, commencing shortly after principal photography wraps in the last week of October 2026.
