Sound Design for Short Film

An independent production is seeking a talented Sound Designer to join our small, dedicated team for an upcoming short film. This project is a poignant sci-fi drama exploring themes of memory and connection in a near-future setting. We're looking for someone creative who can help us build an immersive and emotional sonic landscape for our 15-20 minute piece. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant creative impact on a unique story. Key responsibilities include creating custom sound effects, foley, atmosphere, and enhancing dialogue to bring our director's vision to life. You'll be working closely with the director and editor during the post-production phase. We need someone who has their own sound design software and ideally a personal sound library. Entry-level experience is welcome, but please have a strong reel showcasing your best work in sound design for film or similar media. Post-production is expected to commence in late September or early October 2026, and we anticipate approximately 3-4 weeks of work on a flexible schedule. While this is a TBD (DOE) compensation role, we are committed to providing a great working experience and on-screen credit. This is a remote position, but preference will be given to Austin, TX based individuals for potential in-person meetings.
