Sound Design for Short Film

We are looking for a Sound Designer for an upcoming independent short film, shooting in the Atlanta, GA area around November 6, 2026 for a 3-day shoot. This is a psychological thriller, exploring themes of isolation and paranoia, with a dark, atmospheric tone. We need someone who can craft an immersive and unsettling soundscape, using subtle sound effects and nuanced ambient textures to heighten suspense and character's internal states. The right sound design will be crucial to conveying the film's emotional impact. Key responsibilities include creating and mixing all sound effects, foley, and ambient tracks, working closely with the director to achieve the desired mood and narrative beats. You'll be responsible for the overall sonic palette of the film from raw footage to final mix. While any experience level is welcome, a strong portfolio or reel demonstrating your ability to create impactful soundscapes for narrative projects is essential. Access to your own sound libraries, editing software, and mixing environment is preferred. We are seeking someone passionate about storytelling through sound. This is a TBD compensated role, reflecting our commitment to fair collaboration. We anticipate about 2-3 weeks of post-production work for sound, to be completed by around December 1, 2026.
