Sound Design for Short Film
Hey everyone, Tessa here. I'm helping out on a really cool independent production and we're looking for a talented, entry-level Sound Designer to join our team for an upcoming short film in New York City. It's a dramatic thriller with some comedic undertones, exploring themes of urban isolation. Think a bit like 'Taxi Driver' meets 'After Hours' in its mood, so the sound design will be absolutely crucial in building that intense, atmospheric world. We need someone who can take our raw audio and craft a truly immersive soundscape. This includes Foley, sound effects, ambience, and integrating the score to elevate the storytelling. You'll be working closely with the director and editor to achieve their vision. Ideally, you have your own basic sound design software and headphones. Please be ready to share a reel or examples of your previous sound work, even if it's student projects. We're aiming to shoot late summer, early fall, so specific dates are still TBD but we're looking for someone available for post-production over a few weeks after that. This is a deferred pay position, typical for independent shorts, but it's a great chance to get some solid experience and a strong credit on a project with a lot of potential. Let's make some magic!
