Sound Design for Short Film

Shooting in New York, NY for approximately 3-4 days around September 8, 2026, we're an independent production seeking a talented Sound Designer for our upcoming sci-fi short film. This project is a tense, character-driven piece exploring themes of isolation and communication in a near-future setting. We’re looking for someone creative who can craft an immersive and unsettling auditory landscape that enhances the film's psychological depth without relying on jump scares. Key responsibilities include designing all sound effects, foley, and ambient soundscapes, working closely with the director to achieve the desired tone. You’ll be responsible for creating a distinct sonic identity for the film from raw elements. We need someone who can work independently and has a strong ear for detail. Applicants should have their own sound design software and access to a comprehensive sound effects library. Experience with science fiction or psychological thrillers is a plus.
