Sound Design for Web Series

I'm Amara, a documentary filmmaker working on an exciting new narrative web series. It's a dark comedy, kind of a 'mumblecore meets psychological thriller' vibe, exploring the anxieties of creative professionals in modern Chicago. We have a great script and a dedicated team, and we're looking to bring on a talented Sound Designer to help us craft a truly unique sonic world. Your main role will be to create and implement all the sound elements for the series, including foley, sound effects, ambience, and helping shape the overall sonic palette. We're looking for someone with a strong ear for storytelling through sound, who can contribute creatively to the mood and tone of each episode. Because of the comedic and slightly unsettling nature of the series, an ability to use sound to both enhance humor and build tension is key. We're open to all experience levels, from seasoned pros to emerging talent ready to make their mark. While we don't expect you to own every piece of equipment, having access to your own DAW and basic sound design tools is a big plus. Please share your reel or examples of your previous work. This is an independent production, so compensation will be deferred. We're aiming to shoot late summer/early fall in various Chicago locations, primarily weekends and some evenings. This project is a fantastic opportunity to collaborate on an ambitious series and get some great material for your portfolio. We'll provide all necessary sync sound recordings from set, along with a rough edit for you to work with. Excited to hear from you!
