VFX for Short Film

Our independent production is seeking a talented mid-level VFX Artist to join our crew for an upcoming sci-fi thriller short film. This project delves into themes of artificial intelligence and identity, offering a visually rich story with a suspenseful, thought-provoking tone. We need someone who can help bring our futuristic world and key plot points to life through compelling visual effects. Key responsibilities include creating realistic futuristic UI/HUD elements, integrating practical effects with CGI enhancements, compositing complex shots, and contributing to overall visual storytelling. We’re looking for someone with a strong eye for detail and a solid understanding of visual effects pipelines, ideally with experience in Nuke, After Effects, or similar industry-standard software. Applicants should have their own workstation and software licenses. A strong demo reel showcasing previous work on sci-fi, fantasy, or visually driven projects is essential. Experience with green screen keying and tracking is a plus. The VFX work will primarily take place during the post-production phase, starting roughly the second week of November 2026 and lasting for about 3-4 weeks of concentrated effort. We're offering $250/day flat for the duration of the engagement. While most work can be done remotely, we'd like to collaborate closely for reviews, so being based in Los Angeles, CA is preferred. We’ll provide all necessary footage and clear creative direction. We're aiming to find our artist by October 30, 2026.
