VFX for Short Film

We need a Senior VFX Artist to join our team for a compelling sci-fi short film. This project delves into themes of artificial intelligence and human connection, offering a visually rich narrative that relies heavily on evocative effects to build its world and atmosphere. We're looking for someone excited to bring innovative visual solutions to a story with heart and a sense of wonder. Key responsibilities include creating and compositing digital effects, motion graphics, and environmental enhancements to elevate the film's visual storytelling. You'll be working closely with the director to realize specific sequences, from subtle UI animations to more complex holographic projections and atmospheric phenomena. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring a high-quality, polished look that integrates with the live-action footage. Applicants should have extensive experience in VFX for film, a strong reel demonstrating a range of skills, and proficiency with industry-standard software (e.g., Nuke, After Effects, Houdini, Cinema 4D, Maya). While we provide access to necessary software licenses, you should have your own workstation capable of handling demanding VFX tasks. We anticipate about 3-4 weeks of focused work, primarily in October 2026, with flexibility for some remote collaboration, though preference is for LA-based artists. We offer a rate of $150-300/day, commensurate with experience. This is a great opportunity to make a significant creative impact on an ambitious independent production.
