AI Music: From Temp Score to Primary for Indie Films?

I'm Diana, an AD/Producer, always looking for ways to streamline indie film production without compromising quality. We're currently in post on a short doc shot mostly on an ALEXA Mini, and the temp score phase is getting interesting.

I've been experimenting with AI music generators like AIVA and Soundraw for temp tracks. Honestly, they've been pretty great for getting a feel, quick iterations, decent variety. We even used a couple for an animatic on a recent commercial where we shot with a C70 and a couple of PavoTube II 30Xs for fills. It saves a ton of time compared to digging through libraries.

My real question, though, is how viable do you think these tools will become as primary scoring solutions for indie features in the next five years? Right now, they feel like sophisticated temp-track machines. Do you see them evolving enough to replace human composers for smaller budgets, or will they always be a stepping stone? Would love to hear your thoughts, especially if you've actually used them on completed projects.
