Gaffer (Best Boy) - Web Series

Web Series Cinematography Austin, TX mid Budget: $150-300/day

Hey Austin film community, I'm Haley, a screenwriter in town, and I'm looking for a skilled Gaffer or Best Boy for an upcoming independent web series. It's a six-episode comedy-drama, lighthearted with some genuinely touching moments, focusing on the quirky residents of a small apartment building. Think 'Parks and Rec' meets 'High Maintenance.' We need someone who can help bring our vision to life visually, ensuring the lighting truly enhances the comedic timing and dramatic beats. You'll work closely with the Director of Photography to execute their lighting plans, manage the grip and electric team, ensure safety protocols are followed, and troubleshoot any on-set lighting challenges. We're looking for someone with mid-level experience in narrative projects, a strong understanding of various lighting techniques, and the ability to work efficiently within a small crew. Familiarity with standard grip and electric gear is a must, and bonus points if you have some of your own gear (though not required). Shoot dates are tentatively scheduled for late September, early October, roughly 8-10 hour days, typically 3-4 days a week. We'll provide lunch and craft services, of course. Please send over your resume and reel, if you have one, or a summary of relevant experience. Looking forward to hearing from you!
