Camera Assistant, Doc Project

Val Gutierrez here. We're looking for a sharp Camera Assistant to join our independent documentary project filming in Austin, TX. This film explores the vibrant, underground music scene here, capturing raw performances and intimate interviews. It’s a fast-paced, run-and-gun style shoot, so enthusiasm and quick thinking are key. You'll be primarily responsible for assisting the DP with camera setup, lens changes, media management, battery swaps, and general gear support. We need someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and excellent at anticipating needs on set. Familiarity with Sony FX line cameras and small camera packages is a big plus. This is an entry-level position, but we do require some on-set experience, even if it's from student films or personal projects. A strong work ethic and a desire to learn are highly valued. Please have a basic reel or examples of your camera work or set experience ready to share. The shoot is expected to take place over 2-3 weeks in late summer, early fall of 2024. Exact dates are flexible, but we anticipate 10-12 hour days. Per diem for food will be provided, and we’ll handle all extensive gear transportation once on location. Compensation is $2000-3000 per week, depending on experience. Come help us tell an amazing story!
