Gaffer (Senior) - Thriller Feature

Feature Film Lighting Los Angeles, CA senior Budget: $2000-3000/week

Hey everyone, Adriana here. My independent production is gearing up for a suspenseful thriller feature, and we're on the hunt for a seasoned Gaffer. This project is a gritty, character-driven story with a lot of complex interior night scenes, so we need someone who can really bring their A-game with shape and mood. Think a lot of practicals integration and creative use of space. Our director leans into a naturalistic yet heightened visual style, so your eye for detail and ability to work collaboratively will be key. You'll be leading a small but dedicated lighting team, responsible for executing the DP's vision, managing power, and ensuring all lighting equipment runs smoothly and safely. We're looking for someone with extensive feature film experience, particularly with tricky low-light setups. A strong reel showcasing your work on similar genre projects is a must. You should be familiar with a wide range of current lighting technologies and control systems, and ideally, have access to a basic package for smaller setups (though we'll be renting a full grip and electric truck). Safety certifications are a big plus. Shoot dates are approximately 6 weeks, starting early Fall in Los Angeles. We're looking at 12-hour days, standard indie film schedule. We'll be providing all major rentals and full crew support. Looking forward to seeing your applications!
