Gaffer (Mid-Level) for Indie Feature, Miami

Feature Film Lighting Miami, FL mid Budget: $150-300/day

Hey team, we're on the hunt for a talented, mid-level Gaffer for an upcoming independent feature film shooting in Miami. It's a suspenseful psychological drama, think slow-burn tension with a visually rich, atmospheric feel. We're aiming for something really cinematic, so your eye for shaping light and creating mood is key. As our Gaffer, you'll work closely with our DP to execute their vision, manage our lighting package, and oversee the electrics team. This includes setting up and striking lights, gels, power distribution, and ensuring everything is safe and efficient on set. We're looking for someone who's resourceful, can problem-solve on the fly, and has a strong understanding of various lighting techniques, both natural and artificial. You should have at least 3-5 feature or significant short film credits as a Gaffer or Best Boy Electric, and ideally, you'll bring some of your own essential tools, though we'll provide the main lighting package. A valid driver's license is a must, and we'd love to see a reel or portfolio showcasing your work. Shoot dates are approximately 5 weeks, starting mid-June, with typical 10-12 hour days. We're offering a competitive day rate of $150-300, depending on experience. Lunch and some craft services will be provided daily. Come join a dedicated crew and help us bring this compelling story to life!
