1st AC (Focus Puller) for Short Film

Short Film Production Toronto, ON any Budget: Co-producer credit + backend

Hey film fam, I'm Lucas, a Gaffer on an exciting independent short film currently in pre-production. We're looking for a skilled 1st Assistant Camera (Focus Puller) to join our passionate crew. This is a dramatic, character-driven story with a touch of surrealism, exploring themes of loneliness and connection. We're aiming for a grittier, naturalistic aesthetic with some stylized shots. It's a really interesting script with a strong visual sensibility. As our 1st AC, your primary responsibility will be maintaining critical focus and assisting our Cinematographer with all things camera department. You'll be setting up and striking camera gear, managing lenses, and ensuring the smooth operation of the camera package. We're open to all experience levels (student and emerging filmmakers are welcome to apply) but solid knowledge of camera systems and a strong understanding of focus pulling techniques are essential. While we have some gear, please specify what camera support (follow focus, matte box, etc.) you can bring to the table. A reel or examples of your previous work are a must. Shoot dates are approximately 3-4 days in mid-July in Toronto. We'll be working standard independent film hours, likely 10-12 hour days. Craft services and transportation to set will be provided. In return for your expertise, this is a partnership opportunity, offering a Co-producer credit and backend participation. Let's make some magic!
