Gaffer for Sci-Fi Short Film

Hey everyone, Sofia here. I'm a location scout based in Albuquerque, and I'm currently working on an independent short film project that's really exciting. We're looking for a talented Gaffer to join our crew. This is a sci-fi drama with a really moody, atmospheric tone. Think 'Arrival' meets 'Blade Runner' on a smaller scale. We've got some cool practical effects planned and a story that really makes you think. As our Gaffer, you'll be responsible for designing and executing the lighting plan, working closely with our Cinematographer. We're looking for someone who can be creative and resourceful, helping us achieve a cinematic look even with a limited budget. Experience with LED lighting and portable power solutions would be a major plus. Please have some experience on set (entry-level is fine, but show us you've been on a few sets) and a reel or portfolio showcasing your lighting work. This is an equity partnership opportunity, so we're looking for someone as invested in the project's success as we are. Shoot dates are tentatively set for early September for about 3-4 days of principal photography, likely evenings and overnight for some scenes. We'll provide craft services and some transportation assistance if needed. Let's make something awesome together!
