Gaffer (Mid-Level) for Sci-Fi Short Film

Hey filmmakers, Miguel here. We're looking for a talented Gaffer to join our crew for an independent sci-fi short film. It's a gritty, atmospheric piece exploring themes of isolation and unexpected connection in a near-future dystopia. Think Bladerunner meets a bit of indie drama, visually striking and mood-driven. We need someone with solid experience lighting for narrative, who can work efficiently and creatively with a small team. Your key responsibilities will include collaborating with the DP on lighting design, executing the lighting plan, managing grip and electric equipment, and ensuring safety on set. We're looking for someone who owns a basic G&E package, including C-stands, stingers, and some smaller LED practicals, but we'll be renting a dedicated lighting package. Shoot dates are approximately 3-4 days in late July in the LA area, likely a mix of day and night shoots. We're running a tight but enthusiastic crew. This is a passion project with deferred payment, but we're committed to making something special that will look great on everyone's reel.
