Gaffer (deferred comp) - Indie Feature, Atlanta

Hey filmmakers, I'm working on an independent feature film shooting in Atlanta, and we're looking for a talented Gaffer to join our crew. This is a dramatic thriller with some psychological twists, exploring themes of isolation and paranoia. It's a character-driven story with a few really intense, visually striking sequences that will need some creative lighting. As our Gaffer, you'll be essential in translating the DP's vision into practical lighting setups. Your responsibilities will include managing the lighting package, leading a small electric team, and ensuring all lighting is safe and effective on set. We're open to all experience levels, but you should have a good understanding of lighting principles and safety. We'd love to see a reel or some examples of your work if you have them. Shoot dates are approximately 4 weeks, largely in August and September. Specific hours will vary by day, but anticipate typical indie film hours. We'll be providing basic grip and electric gear, though having access to some of your own specialized equipment is a plus. This is a deferred compensation project, offering a percentage of backend profits. It's a great opportunity to get a feature credit and be part of a passionate team.
