Editor for Independent Short Film
Hey filmmakers, Omar Hassan here, a Steadicam operator working on an upcoming independent short film and we're looking for an editor to join our crew. This is a dramatic short, a gritty character study with some intense emotional moments. We're aiming for a strong festival run, so a sharp, impactful edit is key to bringing this story to life. Your main responsibilities will include assembling footage, refining pacing, collaborating on creative cuts, and ensuring picture lock. We're looking for someone who can craft a compelling narrative from raw footage and has a strong sense of storytelling. Experience level is open - whether you're just starting out or have a few projects under your belt, we're interested in fresh perspectives and talented individuals. You'll need to have your own editing station and software (Premiere Pro preferred, but open to others). A strong portfolio or reel showcasing your editing skills is essential. We anticipate shooting in late July, so post-production would likely begin in early August. We're looking at about 5-7 days of editing, with potentially some additional revisions as needed. Compensation is $100-200 per day, depending on experience. This project will be a great opportunity to get some strong material for your reel and contribute to an exciting independent production here in Atlanta.
