Sound Designer, Indie Feature
Hey everyone, Naomi here. I recently wrapped on an independent feature film shot here in Los Angeles, and we're now looking for a talented Sound Designer to join our post-production team. This is a dramatic thriller, think psychological tension with some supernatural elements. The story is quite atmospheric, delving into the protagonist's descent into paranoia, so sound will be absolutely crucial in building that uneasy, immersive world for the audience. We're aiming for a really nuanced and impactful soundscape, not just flashy effects. Your main responsibilities will include designing, sourcing, and mixing all sound effects, creating ambient textures, and potentially some foley work, all to enhance the film's narrative and emotional impact. We'll be relying on your creative input significantly. We're looking for someone with mid-level experience in feature film sound design, a strong portfolio demonstrating your creative approach to storytelling through sound, and a keen ear for detail. You'll need to work with your own professional-grade sound design software and libraries. While I'm just the Production Sound Mixer, I can connect you with the director and editor directly. We're looking at a 4-6 week commitment, with some flexibility on hours, primarily remote but with occasional in-person sessions needed for mixing. We offer a competitive weekly rate of $2000-$3000. Please send over your reel and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience. Thanks!
