Gaffer for Noir Short Film, Toronto

We're gearing up for an independent short film production, a gritty modern noir with a dark, atmospheric tone, think 'Drive' meets 'Chinatown'. We're seeking a skilled Gaffer to bring our visual concepts to life. You'll be working closely with our DP to create striking lighting setups that enhance the storytelling and mood. Key responsibilities include implementing lighting plans, managing the grip and electric crew, and ensuring all lighting equipment is set up safely and efficiently. We're open to all experience levels, but a strong portfolio or reel demonstrating your lighting capabilities is essential. You should ideally have access to a basic lighting package, or connections to rent one. Our approximate shoot dates are late July, early August, for about 3-5 days, 10-12 hours per day. We'll provide craft services, catering, and transportation for equipment. Daily rate is $300-500 depending on experience. Come help us make something really cool.
