1st AC Position, Sci-Fi Short Film

Hey everyone, Chris here (a Grip, if we've worked together). My buddy is directing a cool sci-fi short and needs a solid 1st AC. It's an independent production, a pretty moody and visually driven story about deep space isolation. Think a bit like 'Moon' meets 'Primer' in tone. We're looking for someone with a good eye for focus and excellent camera management skills. You'll be responsible for pulling critical focus, maintaining camera gear, and assisting the DP with setup and breakdown. You should have some entry-level experience on set, a strong work ethic, and ideally your own follow focus. A basic camera kit (e.g. monitors, matte box, etc.) would be a bonus but not essential. Shoot dates are approximately late September to early October in Vancouver, BC, likely 10-12 hour days. We're paying a competitive rate of $1000-1500 per day.
