Senior Sound Designer, Documentary Series

Documentary Sound Design Minneapolis, MN senior Budget: $300-500/day

Hey everyone, Sara Lindquist here a Post-Production Supervisor. We're looking for a talented Senior Sound Designer to join our team for an exciting new long-form documentary series. This project explores the unique stories of urban wildlife adapting to city environments, with a tone that's both intimate and visually stunning. We're aiming for a rich, immersive soundscape that truly brings these animal narratives to life. Your main responsibilities will include creating and shaping all aspects of the sound design, from foley and effects to ambient textures, and working closely with our picture editor to ensure everything flows perfectly. We need someone who can work independently but also be a strong collaborator. We're looking for someone with extensive experience in documentary sound design, specifically with projects that involve natural environments or wildlife. You should have your own professional-grade sound design software and access to a comprehensive sound library. Please have a strong portfolio or reel demonstrating your work in this area. Experience with dialogue editing and mixing a plus, but the primary focus is creative sound design. This is a paid position, offering $300-500 per day depending on experience. We anticipate the sound design phase will run for approximately 8-10 weeks, starting in early fall, with flexible daytime hours. We'll be working out of a studio space here in Minneapolis. We'll provide all necessary project materials, including picture lock and music tracks. Looking forward to hearing from you!
