Sound Design for Feature Film

Hey filmmakers, I'm a Gaffer working on an exciting independent feature film shooting here in Vancouver, and we're on the hunt for a talented entry-level Sound Designer. This project is a gritty psychological thriller, think atmospheric tension with some truly unsettling soundscapes we want to create from scratch. It's a fantastic opportunity to really dig into a complex narrative, explore innovative sound design, and make your mark on a compelling story. Your main responsibilities will include creating and shaping all the sound effects, ambient tracks, and foley, and then working to integrate them into the final mix. We're looking for someone with a good ear, a creative approach to sound, and a strong understanding of sound editing software. You should have your own sound recording and editing gear. While this is an entry-level position, we'd like to see a reel or portfolio if you have one, even if it's student work. We anticipate principal photography wrapping up in late summer, with post-production kicking off shortly after. It'll be a flexible schedule for sound design, with plenty of room for creative input. This is a volunteer position, but we'll make sure you're well-fed on set and you'll receive a copy of the final film for your reel.
