Color Grader (Entry-Level) - Short Film

Our upcoming independent short film, a psychological drama with a distinctive neo-noir aesthetic, needs an entry-level Color Grader to help bring its visual style to life. This project explores themes of memory, perception, and urban isolation through a highly stylized lens, offering a great opportunity to contribute to a visually driven story. Key responsibilities include working with the director and post-production supervisor to establish and maintain a consistent look for the film, performing primary and secondary color corrections, and ensuring color consistency across all sequences. We're looking for someone with a solid understanding of color theory, experience with industry-standard grading software (DaVinci Resolve preferred), and a keen eye for detail. While personal grading equipment and software are a plus, we can provide a workstation if needed. Please submit a reel demonstrating your color grading work, even if it's from student projects or personal exercises. Post-production is slated to begin shortly after the shoot, which is anticipated for the first half of October 2026. We expect about 3-4 weeks of intermittent work, depending on the editor's progress. This is a deferred payment opportunity, typical for independent short films, but offers valuable experience, screen credit, and a strong addition to your portfolio. We are based in Minneapolis, MN, and would prefer a local individual for easier collaboration, though remote work could be considered for the right candidate.
