Color Grading for Music Video
Hey Detroit colorists, I'm Jordan Kemp, an aerial cinematographer, and I'm looking for a senior colorist for an upcoming music video project. This is a high-energy, narrative-driven pop video with a vibrant, modern aesthetic. Think bold, saturated colors and dynamic shifts that amplify the story beats and performance. We've got some really cool drone shots and unique lighting setups that will really pop with the right touch. Your main responsibility will be bringing the director's vision to life through expert color grading, ensuring visual consistency across all footage, and delivering final masters in specified formats. We're looking for someone with significant experience, ideally with a strong music video reel that demonstrates a keen eye for style and storytelling through color. You should be proficient in DaVinci Resolve or similar professional grading software, and ideally have your own system. We're aiming for a 2-3 day grading window, likely sometime in late July or early August, exact dates TBD based on the shoot schedule. We'll provide all the necessary raw footage and a detailed creative brief. The daily rate is $150-300, negotiable based on experience. Please send over your reel and a brief intro about your experience, especially with music videos.
