Director: Atmospheric Drama Feature (Volunteer)
Hey filmmakers, I'm a script coordinator working on an independent production and we're on the hunt for a passionate Director for an upcoming feature film. This isn't a paid gig, it's a true passion project fueled by a love for cinematic storytelling. The film is an atmospheric drama, a character-driven piece set in a claustrophobic urban environment. Think slow-burn tension, psychological depth, and a visually striking aesthetic. We're aiming for something powerful and thought-provoking, a film that lingers with the audience. If you thrive on crafting compelling narratives and evoke strong emotions without big budgets, this could be your next project. As our Director, you'll be responsible for bringing the script to life, guiding the cast and crew, and shaping the overall artistic vision. This includes collaborating on shot listings, working closely with the Cinematographer, blocking scenes, and当然, directing performances. You'll need to demonstrate strong leadership and a clear creative voice. We're open to all experience levels, from emerging talent to seasoned pros looking for their next creative outlet. What's most important is your vision and commitment. Please provide a reel or examples of your previous directing work, showcasing your ability to tell a story visually. While we can provide some basic camera and lighting gear (we're resourceful!), having access to your own equipment or key crew contacts is a plus. Shoot dates are currently flexible but we're looking at late summer, early fall for a several-week shoot in New York City. Hours will be long, as is typical for indie features, but the creative satisfaction will be immense. Join us in making something special!
