Feature Film Director, Austin TX

Seeking a talented Director for an upcoming independent feature film, a suspenseful drama with strong psychological elements. Think less jump scares, more slow burn tension and complex character arcs. Project is an adaptation of an award-winning short story, offering a unique opportunity to bring a compelling narrative to the screen. As our Director, you'll be responsible for translating the screenplay into a visually and emotionally engaging film. This involves leading the creative vision, collaborating closely with the DP and cast, blocking scenes, and guiding performances. We're looking for someone who can craft a distinct aesthetic and draw out powerful performances. While experience is open, a strong portfolio or reel demonstrating your directorial range and storytelling ability is essential. You’ll need to work effectively with an emerging creative team. Shoot dates are approximately late summer/early fall for 3-4 weeks, primarily in Austin, TX. Specific gear will be determined during pre-production, but we expect candidates to be comfortable working with standard independent film equipment.
