Director, Web Series (Mid-Level, London)

Seeking an experienced web series Director for an independent production, a drama with comedic undertones set in contemporary London. We're developing a fresh take on urban anxieties, driven by strong character performances and a visually engaging aesthetic that balances realism with a touch of the surreal. This isn't your average talking-heads series, we're looking for someone with a vision. Your key responsibilities will include leading the creative vision, casting, guiding performances, and overseeing the visual storytelling. We need a director who can bring energy and clarity to the set, making quick, effective decisions while fostering a collaborative environment. You'll be working closely with a small, dedicated crew. Requirements include a strong directorial reel showcasing narrative web series or short film work, demonstrating your ability to handle character-driven stories and manage a modest production. While we'll have a core lighting and camera package, familiarity with efficient shooting techniques for independent projects is a plus. We expect you to bring your creative problem-solving skills, not necessarily specialized gear. Shoot dates are approximately 7-10 days across late July/early August, mostly day shoots within London. Compensation is at a rate of 150-300 GBP per day, depending on experience. Lunch and travel expenses within London will be covered.
