Director for Sci-Fi Pilot

Seeking a talented and visionary Director for an independent sci-fi pilot, a proof-of-concept for a larger series. The story explores themes of identity and parallel universes with a gritty, character-driven tone. We're looking for someone who can bring a unique visual style to complex narrative ideas, creating a compelling world on a limited budget. Your key responsibilities will include collaborating closely with the screenwriter to refine the script, storyboarding, blocking scenes effectively, guiding actors to nuanced performances, and working with the DP to establish the visual language. This is a chance to put your creative stamp on an exciting project with significant potential. We require applicants to have at least 3-5 years of directing experience, particularly in narrative fiction. Experience with visual effects integration, even on a smaller scale, is a plus. Please submit a strong directing reel showcasing your storytelling abilities and visual aesthetic. A cover letter outlining your approach to sci-fi or similar genre work would be appreciated. Shoot dates are approximately 5-7 days in late July or early August, with approximately 10-12 hour days. Located in New York, NY. Compensation is $200-400 per day, depending on experience.
