Director, Hip Hop Music Video (Atlanta)

An independent production is seeking a passionate Director for an upcoming hip hop music video based in Atlanta. This project is a visually driven concept for an emerging artist, focusing on urban aesthetics and dynamic performance. We're aiming for a high-energy, narrative-light piece that captures the artist's unique style and connects with the target audience through compelling visuals and creative shot composition. We're looking for someone who can bring a fresh perspective and elevate the track.Key responsibilities include collaborating with the artist on concept development, translating the musicality into a visual story, overseeing pre-production (storyboarding, shot listing), and leading the crew on set to execute the vision. You'll be responsible for guiding performances and ensuring the video aligns with the artist's brand.Applicants should have a strong directorial reel showcasing music video or narrative short film experience, demonstrating a clear understanding of visual storytelling and pacing. While we prefer candidates who can bring their own basic camera package, it's not strictly required. We can discuss options.This is a passion project and a volunteer position, offering a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with a dedicated team and gain new material for your reel. Prep work will begin in late August 2026, with an estimated 1-2 day shoot planned for early September 2026. Shoot hours will likely be 10-12 hours per day. Craft services, water, and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided on set during shoot days. Location scouting and casting will be handled by the production team with your input.
