Director, Thriller Pilot (Entry Level)

Pilot Directing New York, NY entry Budget: TBD

We're looking for an enthusiastic and creative Director for an upcoming independent pilot (short form, approximately 20-25 minutes). This is a psychological thriller with elements of body horror and a unique, unsettling tone. Our story explores themes of consent and power dynamics within a confined setting, offering a lot of visual storytelling opportunities. As Director, you'll be responsible for bringing our script to life, guiding performances, and collaborating closely with our small but dedicated crew. You'll work with the DP to establish the visual language, direct blocking and camera movements, and oversee post-production to ensure the final cut aligns with our vision. This is an entry-level position, ideal for someone looking to build their directing reel and gain experience on a narrative production. We're open to new voices and fresh perspectives. You'll need a strong visual sense and a clear understanding of storytelling through performance and camera. Please include a link to your directing reel or any past short film work, even if it's student-level. Shoot dates are approximately 3-4 days in late summer or early fall (exact dates TBD), with pre-production work starting sooner. We're aiming for 10-12 hour shoot days. We'll provide a core crew, locations, and essential equipment, but any specific gear you might have access to (e.g., a specific camera package or lighting kit) would be a bonus, though not required. This is a great chance to make something impactful.
