Music Video Director, Emerging Pop Artist

Hey filmmakers, I'm reaching out from an independent production team looking for a talented Director for an upcoming music video. We're working with an emerging pop artist on a track that’s got a really dreamy, slightly ethereal vibe, think early Grimes meets Solange. We want to tell a compelling, visually driven story that complements the song's energy and emotional depth. Your primary role will be to translate our artist's vision and the song's narrative into a captivating visual piece. This includes leading pre-production meetings, developing the visual concept and shot list, directing on set, and overseeing the edit to ensure consistency with the established tone. You'll work closely with myself (Production Designer) and the rest of our small, dedicated crew. We're open to all experience levels, from rising talent with a killer reel to seasoned pros. What matters most is your unique vision and ability to execute. Please share your reel or portfolio showcasing your directing work, especially music videos or narrative shorts. While we're not requiring you to bring specific camera gear, having your own a monitor or small director's kit is a plus. Shoot dates are approximately 2-3 days in late July (dates TBD, flexible based on availability), with 10-12 hour days. Location will be around the Los Angeles area. We'll be providing all camera, lighting, and grip equipment, as well as catering and transportation on set. Compensation is $500-800 per day, negotiable based on experience.
