Director, Volunteer Documentary

Following a tenacious unhoused artist navigating Los Angeles, this documentary explores themes of resilience and the unexpected places creativity thrives. We're seeking an entry-level Director who can bring a fresh perspective and passion to this intimate independent production. You'll be responsible for creative leadership, guiding interviews, and shaping the narrative arc alongside our small crew. This is a unique opportunity to tell a powerful story without studio constraints. We need someone who owns their own camera and basic audio gear (mic, recorder), has some prior experience directing short form content (student films, web series, etc.), and can share a reel or portfolio. Prep will be about 3 weeks of work leading into a 1-2 day shoot in late September 2026. This is a passion project, so compensation is volunteer. We'll provide craft services and cover transportation costs during production days.
