Editing for Documentary

Documentary Editing Atlanta, GA senior Budget: $500-800/day

An independent production is seeking a highly skilled Senior Editor for an upcoming feature documentary. This project explores the unique stories of urban resilience and community building in Atlanta, with a tone that is both hopeful and deeply human. We need someone who can craft compelling narratives from extensive footage, bringing a sensitive and nuanced perspective to often complex subjects. You will be responsible for assembly, rough cut, fine cut, and picture lock, collaborating closely with the director. This is a senior role, requiring a proven track record of documentary editing and a strong understanding of narrative structure. Please have your own editing station (preferably Adobe Premiere Pro) and a reel showcasing your documentary work. The editing period is estimated to be about 8-10 weeks, primarily between late September and early December 2026, working standard business hours. Compensation is $500-800/day, based on experience. Some remote work is possible, but regular in-person collaboration in Atlanta will be essential.
