Senior Editor, Sci-Fi Pilot (Chicago)

When a seemingly ordinary Chicago couple discovers their dog has a unique connection to the future, their lives unravel in unexpected ways. We're seeking a talented, senior-level Editor for a fast-paced, character-driven sci-fi pilot, a proof-of-concept for an independent production company. This project blends suspense, humor, and a touch of the absurd, requiring an editor who can craft compelling narratives and manage complex pacing. You will be responsible for assembling raw footage, creating a strong story arc, incorporating sound design elements, and collaborating closely with the director to refine the final cut. We're looking for someone with extensive experience on narrative projects, ideally with sci-fi or genre content. Proficiency with industry-standard editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer) is essential. You should have your own workstation capable of handling 4K footage. Please provide a link to your reel showcasing your best narrative work. We anticipate about 3-4 weeks of work starting in late September 2026, with flexible hours. This is a work-from-home position with occasional in-person sessions in Chicago, IL for director reviews. Compensation is tbd, dependent on experience.
