Editing for Feature Film
We're shooting a character-driven independent feature film in Vancouver, BC, with principal photography planned for around October 9, 2026 for about 3 weeks. We're seeking an enthusiastic, entry-level Editor to join our small, dedicated post-production team. This project is a gritty, emotional drama with elements of a psychological thriller, focusing on raw human experience and a non-linear narrative, offering a unique opportunity to shape the film's pacing and tone. We're looking for someone who can bring a fresh perspective and a strong storytelling sensibility to the edit suite. Key responsibilities include assembling initial cuts, organizing footage and assets, implementing feedback, and assisting the lead editor with sound and music placement. You'll be working closely with the director and the post-production supervisor. Applicants should have a basic understanding of professional editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve), and ideally have their own editing workstation. While formal experience isn't required, a strong portfolio or reel demonstrating your editing skills on short films, student projects, or even personal work is a must. This is a paid position, offering $100-200 per day, depending on experience. You'll be expected to work typical 8-10 hour days, primarily remotely but with some in-person sessions in Vancouver as needed. We'll provide all necessary footage, project files, and a clear post-production plan. Please submit your reel and resume as soon as possible, we’re hoping to find someone by October 10, 2026.
