Short Film Editing 🌍 Remote mid Budget: Negotiable

A young woman uses a peculiar app to track down her missing sister, only to uncover a terrifying secret. We're seeking a skilled Editor for a visually driven, independent sci-fi thriller short film that aims for the festival circuit. This project will challenge you to build suspense and character through nuanced pacing and sound design, bringing a fresh perspective to a contemporary story with a dark twist. We’re an independent production, passionate about crafting compelling narratives. Key responsibilities include assembling raw footage, creating a compelling narrative flow, incorporating sound design elements, and preparing cuts for VFX and color grading. You'll be working closely with the director to refine the story. We're looking for someone with mid-level experience in editing short films, a strong portfolio showcasing dramatic or thriller work, and proficiency in industry-standard editing software. While we do not provide editing equipment, a capable workstation and relevant software are essential. The shoot is scheduled for a single 2-day block around September 1, 2026, with editing commencing shortly after and expected to be about 3-4 weeks of focused work, wrapping up by mid-October 2026. This is a remote-friendly position based out of Vancouver, BC, with opportunities for in-person collaboration if preferred. Compensation is negotiable and will be discussed based on experience. Please include a link to your reel or relevant work samples when applying. We'd love to hear from you by October 3, 2026.
