Locations Manager, Dramatic Short
Looking for an experienced Locations Manager for an upcoming dramatic short film. This indie project explores themes of loss and resilience through a visually striking narrative, with a somber yet hopeful tone. We're capturing some really emotional scenes, so finding the right locations is key to setting the mood. You'll be responsible for scouting, securing, and managing all filming locations in and around Los Angeles. This includes negotiating access, permits, and ensuring location agreements are in place. You'll work closely with the director and production designer to bring their vision to life, identifying practical and aesthetically suitable options. You'll also manage the locations budget and coordinate logistics for load-in and load-out at each spot. We need someone with extensive experience in location scouting for short films or independent features in the LA area. You should have a strong portfolio demonstrating your ability to find compelling and versatile locations, and a solid understanding of local permitting processes. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are essential. Please submit your resume, references, and a reel or portfolio showcasing your previous work in this field. Shoot dates are tentatively scheduled for mid-August, for a total of 5 production days, with prep starting late July. Expect 10-12 hour days during production. We'll provide craft services, lunch, and any necessary location fees not covered by the flat rate. This is a paid position, $250 flat rate per day.
