Lighting for Feature Film

Feature Film Lighting Los Angeles, CA mid Budget: Credit + meals

Hey filmmakers, I'm Monique Hale, a Dialect Coach, and I'm helping a colleague staff their independent feature film, a dark comedy with thriller elements set in a small, isolated town. We're looking for a skilled Gaffer to bring their creative vision and technical expertise to our upcoming project. This film explores themes of ambition and delusion, and excellent lighting will be crucial to establishing its unique tone. Your primary responsibility will be overseeing the lighting department, collaborating closely with the DP to execute their vision, and managing the lighting crew. We're looking for someone with a strong understanding of various lighting techniques, equipment, and safety protocols. You'll need to be proficient with industry-standard lighting packages and ideally have access to some basic gear (though we do have some available). Please share your reel or examples of your previous Gaffer work. This is a volunteer position, but you'll receive full credit and meals on set. We're anticipating a 10-12 day shoot in late summer or early fall, primarily in the Los Angeles area, with some longer days. It's a great opportunity to gain experience on a feature and collaborate with a passionate crew. Let's make something awesome together!
