Gaffer for Indie Music Video

Hey filmmakers, Luis here. I'm helping an independent production find a skilled Gaffer for an upcoming music video shoot in Albuquerque. It's a really cool, high-energy pop track with some vibrant, stylized visual concepts we're aiming for. Think dynamic lighting, punchy colors, and a few practical effects, so your creativity with illumination will really shine through and help us tell the story. We're looking for someone with around 3-5 years of experience gaffing music videos or similar projects. You'll be responsible for executing the lighting plan, working closely with our DP, ensuring all electrical safety, and managing our small grip and electric team. We need someone who can lead a department efficiently and bring a strong technical eye. You should have your own basic gaffing kit (meters, stingers, hand tools etc.) and a strong understanding of various lighting fixtures and power distribution. Please have a solid reel or portfolio showcasing your previous work, especially anything with dynamic lighting. Shoot dates are tentatively scheduled for mid-October, likely 2-3 days, with 10-12 hour days. Exact dates TBD but we're aiming for weekdays. Lunch and craft services will be provided on set. Compensation is $150-300 per day, depending on experience. Looking forward to seeing your work!
