Gaffer (Music Video) - LA
Hey everyone, Miguel here (I fly drones, so I'm usually up in the air). I'm helping a colleague find a talented Gaffer for an upcoming music video shoot. This project is for an indie artist, a moody, atmospheric pop tune with some really cool visual concepts involving practical lighting. Think ethereal, cinematic, with emphasis on creating strong shadows and highlights. We're looking for someone who can translate a director's vision into compelling lighting setups. Key responsibilities include working with our DP to design the lighting plan, setting up and striking lights, managing power, and ensuring a safe set. You'll be crucial in shaping the visual aesthetic of the video. We're open to all experience levels, from passionate emerging gaffers to seasoned pros. What's most important is your eye, your problem-solving skills, and a positive attitude. Please have some experience on set, even if it's on smaller projects. A reel or portfolio demonstrating your lighting work is a big plus. Shoot dates are TBD but looking at mid-June, likely 2-3 days in the Los Angeles area. Expect 10-12 hour days. Compensation is $150-300 per day, dependent on experience. We'll be providing all necessary lighting gear, but if you have a specialized kit you like to use, let's talk. We're a small, dedicated team, and we're excited to create something beautiful together.
