Lighting for Music Video

An independent production is seeking a talented Gaffer to join our small, enthusiastic crew for an upcoming dark pop music video. This project features dramatic lighting needs to enhance a moody, atmospheric aesthetic, blending cinematic visuals with performative elements. We're looking for someone who can translate our vision into compelling lightscapes, bringing creative solutions and a solid technical understanding to the set. Your key responsibilities will include collaborating closely with the DP to execute lighting designs, managing the lighting team (when applicable), ensuring safe and efficient operation of all lighting equipment, and performing rigging and de-rigging duties. Prior experience gaffing music videos or similarly stylized short-form content is essential. Please have your own basic lighting kit available, though specialized fixtures will be rented and provided. A strong reel showcasing your work is required. Shoot dates are tentatively scheduled for late July/early August, over 2-3 full days in and around London. We're a passionate team offering deferred compensation via a backend percentage, meaning your creative contribution is directly tied to the project’s success. Meals and local travel will be covered during the shoot.
