Lighting for Feature Film
Hey film fam, Camille Dubois here (Production Designer). We're looking for a seasoned Gaffer for an upcoming independent drama feature shooting primarily in Los Angeles. This isn't your typical indie flick, it's a character-driven story with some really atmospheric scenes that will rely heavily on nuanced lighting to establish tone and mood. Think a grounded, introspective feel with pockets of intense visual storytelling. We need someone with strong creative chops and extensive experience leading a lighting team on narrative features. You'll be instrumental in collaborating with our DP to translate key visual concepts into reality, managing our lighting package (mix of LEDs, HMI, and some practicals), and ensuring efficient power distribution and safety on set. We're open to working with your preferred lighting assistants if you have a core team you trust. Please have your own basic G&E kit if possible (nothing massive, just your go-to essentials) and a reel or portfolio showcasing your narrative work. Shoot dates are approximately late September through October, 10-12 hour days. Per diem and craft services will be provided. Daily rate is $200-400, depending on experience. Excited to see your work!
