Gaffer (Web Series, Chicago)

Hey Chicago film crew, looking for a Gaffer for an upcoming independent web series shoot. We're developing a gritty, character-driven drama, think early seasons of Breaking Bad meets Chicago P.D. It's got a really compelling script and some fantastic local talent lined up. We're aiming for a dark, intimate so your lighting expertise will be key in shaping the mood and storytelling. Your responsibilities will include collaborating closely with our DP and director to execute the intended visual style, managing the lighting department, overseeing gear setup and strike, and ensuring all safety protocols are meticulously followed. We're looking for someone who can work efficiently and creatively within a tight schedule. Ideal candidates will have experience gaffing on narrative projects, a strong understanding of various lighting techniques, and a knack for problem-solving on set. While we appreciate all experience levels, we particularly value adaptability and a strong work ethic. Please send over your resume and a reel or portfolio showcasing your lighting work. Shoot dates are tentatively scheduled for 8-10 days in late August or early September 2026, with approximately 10-12 hour days. Compensation is $1000-1500 per day, depending on experience.
